There
is quite
a lot
to
sitting
at
a
window
sill
First
the morning greets
you
with
announcement
of inexplicable mystery
Sometimes
I have a
very hard time
pulling
myself
away
And yet
part
of
the
fun
is imagining
getting
lost
out
there
Or to
see
children
walking
toward
the house
I can hear their foot steps!
Actually
they
live rather far away
The tree
there
near the
fountain
is
a resting
place
for
some
Birds
will
take a drink
on
occasion
One time
I
saw the tree
branches
embrace
the fountain
and then
pat
the
head
of one
of
the
statues
At
night
dogs bark
at
the moon
and the
stars
(snooty as they seem to be)
just
roll
their
eyes
On occasion
the sky
calls
out:
“Are you going to join me?”
But
I
am far too shy
and
so
consider
pulling the curtains shut
In fact
it takes courage
to leave
the curtains
open
It is harder
than
you think!
So
when
you see
me
here
would
you
please wave?
That alone
is
inspiration!
This is
where
I
belong
I will write to you
and
tell
you
as much as I can
As much as I can
