There were so
many
people
and
so much noise.
I guess we call it
a
commotion.
But
I only saw her.
No one else
and
nothing else.
“I’m leaving now”
she said
with
conviction,
and
indeed
like that
she
was
gone.
It hurts like fire!

Thank goodness
for shade
and this hideaway.
Please tell me,
please:
“Do you hurt
at times?
Will the sorrow
ever
go away?”
I tell you
the sun is a hunter, child!

It finds
you
and
makes
you blink.
The sun will
expose
you
in broad daylight
scurrying
for cover!
And
the moon as well
is now
our jailer,
the stars
its prisoners.

You know,
a broken heart
is just
like
shattered
glass.
“Ha ha!
I will clean it up!”
says
the brazen wind.

Well,
I do not
care
where the wind
takes me,
so long as
I don’t
have to talk,
or pack my bags,
or eat,
or comb my hair.
Tears
in fact
clean my face.
They even
glisten.
So many tears
a gorgeous
water fall
is created,
and
a beautiful
angel
showers
languidly
below.

She speaks:
“Look,
a rainbow!”
then lifts my face.

“I see it
in your eyes!”

“We are His children!
Have
you
all
forgotten?”
