Have you
noticed
how
opening the window shade
some times
if it
is
bright outside
you
blink —
Some
like to
push their face out
of
the car
window
into the sunlight —-
It splashes
from
so very
far away
and
incredibly
without
sound
How
far
the
light
travels
and
how
much
we
are
nourished by it,
healed
by it,
taunted
by
it
Quietly
and
at times
too fiercely
indeed
it can
be
too
warm
too
hot
but, in the main,
we
welcome
and
celebrate
the very
ever so
brilliant
light
We
cup it
in
our hands
and
would
pour
it
over our heads
if we could
We would
run with bowls
to
gather it
to
race back
to
try
to
save as many as we can –
From
so far
away
almost imperceptible
like the hand
on your shoulder
as
you
look
to
the
distance,
as
you
stare
into
the
place
from which
it
starts
