I tried dieting
A steady
intake
of
only
ethereal words
Poems
for breakfast
Haiku
a light snack
Lunch a short story
Dinner
at least
one
chapter
of
a
marvelous
novel
Each night
I did not dream
but
sailed
through
clouds
straits
beneath and
above
the
sea
and
woke
to a brilliant
new
day
And
then
I went back
to my old habits
Grizzled
I
found
solace
in trash cans
and
gutters
Somewhere
there is a happy
medium
Either
or
Either
Or
“Stick to your diet!”
they
all
shouted
Indeed
It is the longest bread line in history
All those
waiting
for
a steady
intake
of
only
ethereal words
The longest
line
you
will
ever
see
Why are so many
so hungry?
