I am disgusted
by
mortality
There ought to be a law!
Imagine being dead
Well you can’t
you aren’t
if you’re reading this
Don’t tell me
you think
you know
We die
shrivel up
rigirous mortis
not a pretty sight
And the smell
oh Lord!
I am completely
and
utterly
incensed by mortality
will have nothing
at all
to do with it
ever
And so
just so you know
I will live forever
just you wait
and
see
Any obituary about me
any funeral
any scattering of whatever
don’t you believe it
for one second
Sure
after a billion years
I might prefer a change
in scenery
but truth be told
just let’s be clear:
I will never ever ever
ever
ever
die
“How long has he been there?”
“At least three days. Poor bastard…”
Birds on a wire
over head
singing
not a care in the world
fly off
to their destiny
fly off
to
a
better
place
